15 Schools and 20,000 students
The Australian Foundation for Fostering Learning in the Philippines (AFFLIP) is a non government, not-for-profit Foundation with Deductible Gift Recipient status based in South Australia. Our focus is on supporting the learning of students in poorly resourced schools which have a large number of educationally disadvantaged students. Currently we are working with 15 elementary public schools, with about 20,000 students, in Talomo District, Davao City, Mindanao.

Why does education matter?
"Education is the key that will allow many other Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be achieved. When people are able to get quality education they can break from the cycle of poverty. Education therefore helps to reduce inequalities and to reach gender equality.
It also empowers people everywhere to live more healthy and sustainable lives. Education is also crucial to fostering tolerance between people and contributes to more peaceful societies."
Where your donation goes
Schools Learning Network supports principals and teachers from the Talomo District participating in educational exchanges and visits to SA schools.
Health and Nutrition Program promotes the health and nutrition of students and provides support for agriculture and aquaculture activities to help sustain each school’s feeding program.
$100 Scholarships are provided to at-risk students in grades 4, 5 and 6. The funds provide basic school supplies and the opportunity to engage in leadership programs.
Professional Development: Literacy provides quality curriculum resources to each school and works with teachers to enhance their knowledge and skills in teaching English literacy.
Learning through the Outdoor Environment assists schools to develop ways to enhance outdoor school environments in order to promote student learning.
Through practical educational strategies our work is giving real hope to young people living in some of the poorest areas of the Philippines.
Oreon Partners support AFFLIP
We are indebted to Peter Telford (Partner) and Jess Telford (Associate Director) at Oreon Partners for their ongoing support, expertise and wise counsel.

They provide the latest online accounting software for AFFLIP to use, work with AFFLIP Treasurer John Erskine to ensure that the AFFLIP Board has access to high quality financial reports and useful, meaningful and timely financial information.
The Board wish to thank them for their support with AFFLIP's AGM and Annual Report 2017-2018.
New Outdoor Learning Project at Mabini Elementary School
An exciting new three-pronged outdoor learning project is being established at Mabini Elementary School which involves poultry farming (native chicken), greenhouse elevation and aquaponics. This has been made possible through the generous donation of the Rotary Club of Maitland.
