AFFLIP Programs

Literacy Program
AFFLIP has assisted Dońa Soledad Dolor Elementary School to further develop Reading Corners for each classroom, provide opportunities for school coordinator training on how to use the big books and been instrumental in supporting remediation and intervention programs through the provision of books and instructional materials.

Health and Nutrition Program
AFFLIP has assisted Dońa Soledad Dolor Elementary School further develop the school feeding program by providing necessary resources for gardening tools and materials resulting in a significant increase in the harvest of vegetables. The school garden is a place of learning, where students are engaged in establishing garden plots, planting, cultivating, watering and harvesting vegetables and at the same time they learn Science and Mathematics. A First Aid kit has been provided for our little doctors and nurses guided by the clinic/science teacher. AFFLIP has sponsored the registration fee for 25 girl scouts and 25 boy scouts.

Schools Network Program
Dońa Soledad Dolor Elementary School and Flaxmill Primary School work in partnership. This networking provides many opportunities for students, parents and teaching staff to connect between Mindanao and South Australia. Teachers share teaching strategies and students gain greater cross cultural understanding along with an appreciation of their role as global citizens.

Scholarship Program
Dońa Soledad Dolor Elementary School has 6 students who currently receive a scholarship that provides basic school materials, fees and uniform. This school year 2016 – 2017 we will scout another 2 scholars in replacement of those 2 scholars who graduated last school year 2015 – 2016.
